JAYBEE launches additional text messaging via DECTs

Interface between SmartButler® and DECT allows text messaging between the Guest Service Centre and runners via the internal telephone system.

JAYBEE Systems, the developer of the hotel Guest Service Centre Software - SmartButler®, has announced the development of another platform for text messaging.

Via an interface to the hotel's DECT system, SmartButler® is now capable of a new two-way communication to and from DECT handsets. This capability is in addition to the existing platform for communicating to and from cellular handsets using SMS messaging. JAYBEE has already successfully installed interfaces to the Alcatel and Tenovis DECT systems, with more interfaces anticipated in the future.

A key benefit of the new interface is that a two-way communication is possible between the GSC and the departments without incurring additional messaging costs. Because all messaging is routed via the internal telephone system, there are no additional costs for messages. The platform enables a representative of a department to edit or close event tickets, view status of a call and retrieve information from Fidelio Property Management System. 

Following the first installation of this new feature, Mr. Joseph Ron, Managing Director of JAYBEE Systems said that "Our customers can now work with greater stability and flexibility at low cost and with very simple infrastructure".

The new feature is available to all existing customers of SmartButler® with valid Support and Maintenance Agreements.
