JAYBEE systems, the developer
of the hotel Guest Service Centre - SmartButler®, has announced
that final approval was received from Alcatel for the interface
between SmartButler® and Alcatel’s DECT phone system.
Receipt of the final approval for the interface follows a period
of intensive development and testing conducted together with
engineers from Alcatel’s Innovations and Partnerships team. As
part of the work done with Alcatel, JAYBEE has also been
admitted as a member to Alcatel’s Applications Partner Program
(AAPP).
With this approval,
SmartButler® has a communication link with Alcatel’s DECT phone
system enabling SmartButler® to send text messages to DECT
handsets, and allowing the receipt by SmartButler® of
notifications in return.
Mr. Joseph Ron, JAYBEE's
Managing Director, said that the approval from Alcatel is a
reflection of JAYBEE’s investment in addressing the
communication between the Guest Service Centre, and those
members of staff who provide service to guests. “The
communication between the GSC and runners is potentially the
weakest link in the chain in the provision of high quality guest
service, and JAYBEE is committed to strengthening this link
using all available resources and technologies at its disposal”.
“We are grateful to Alcatel for their support and co-operation”,
he added.
The interface is TCP/IP based and is approved for use with
Alcatel’s OMNIPCX or 4400 Enterprise PBX systems. The PBX switch
should support CSTA protocol version 2.
