The new interface makes it possible to direct fire alarm and control calls via SmartButler^® to the person responsible for dealing with the Emergency. When SmartButler^® receives the call, it automatically opens a call record in the LogBook and sends an immediate text message to the responsible employee. In case the call is not attended to within a short period of time, an automatic escalation process will be initiated, notifying the head of the department, the Duty Manager or other members of staff.

This interface provides several advantages to the site:

• All emergency calls occurring at the hotel are recorded in the same system and can be analyzed using SmartButler^®'s sophisticated graph and reporting engines.
• SmartButler^®'s close follow-up will insure that the alarm record will be properly handled - SmartButler^® is prepared for situations in which there is no way to know if the relevant employee actually received the message and is working to solve the problem. In such cases, SmartButler^® will initiate the escalation system notifying more and more people that the alarm record still hasn’t been attended to.
• Linking SmartButler^® to the fire alarm system releases a member of staff from this specific task and allows him/her to attend to other missions
• The interface makes use of SmartButler^®'s SMS system

The interface is based on ModBus standard industrial protocol.
